Governor of Shida Kartli and Vice-Prime Minister Attended the General Meeting in the Village of Ptsa

Giorgi Khojevanishvili,-the State-representative in Shida Kartli and Maia Tskitishvili,-Vice –Prime Minister, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure in Georgia attended the general meeting of Agriculture Support Program at the village of Ptsa,in the Kareli Municipality. According to the population’s decision, the works of street lightning will be implemented through Agriculture Support Program.

General meetings are going on at all the municipalities of the region. The projects to be implemented will be selected through consultations with the village population and decisions which will be made at the meetings of the villages.    

Over half a million people living at the villages, at the scale of the country, will decide themselves how to spend 20 000 000 GEL for the program until the 1st of March. Small infrastructural projects will be funded by Agriculture Support Program in the municipalities, the amount of GEL 5-10 000 will be distributed according to the size of the settlement. The projects selected by the villages  will be submitted to the City Hall for approval. The goal of the program is to give a chance to population to decide themselves what their requirements are. The locals know better the existing challenges in their villages. This will promote to develop self-governance and to involve population actively in the process of making decisions.  

Holding of general meeting of 3 700 villages in Georgia started today all over Georgia. The projects to be implemented will be selected according to consultations with village population and the decisions made at general meetings. Over half a million locals will solve themselves until the 1 st of March how to spend GEL 20 000 000 for the program.
