Farmers will benefit from additional support in villages located near the occupation line

Giorgi Khojevnishvili,-the State Representative in Shida Kartli , Levan Davitashvili,-the Minister of the Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili,-the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality in Georgia, visited the agricultural cooperative ‘’Nikozi’’ nursery economy in the village of Nikozi.

The farmer Giorgi Mchedlidze founded the agricultural economy within the project ‘’Plant the Future’’ in the village located at the occupation line which is oriented on   expansion-multiplication of new varieties. The farmer    brought the American varieties of walnut and almond seedlings and planted them on several thousand    hectares.   

Farmers will benefit from additional support in villages located near the occupation line.   In particular, changes to the villages adjacent to the occupation line will be amended  into the project "Plant the Future’’.   According to the amendment to the co-financing component of multi-year gardens, the minimum area of land in the villages near the occupation  line will be reduced and the minimum area will be 0.5 ha instead of 1 ha.        In addition, 70% of the co-financing component and 50% of the irrigation system instead of co-financing, the farmer will get 80% and 60% co-financing for gardening.     

Amendments will also be included in the co-financing project of agriculture processing and savings enterprises.    If the project is implemented in villages near the dividing line, the farmer will receive a 40% grant instead of the state, receive 50% grants - not more than 600,000 GEL.
