Despite the state of emergency declared in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus in
the country, agricultural works are being carried out intensively in Shida Kartli region.
Different kinds of agricultural plants are cultivated in four municipalities of the region and
according to the farmers , a good harvest is expected this year.
Giorgi Khojevanishvili,-the State Representative of Shida Kartli and his Deputy,-Nugzar
Samkharadze visited the fruit garden at the village of Ptsa in Kareli municipality. The
farmer has grown about 50 hectares of land with apples, cherries and walnuts. He said
that the implementation of spring works is of great importance and despite the current
situation, the work is being carried out intensively.
“Despite the state of emergency, spring works are being carried out intensively in Shida
Kartli region, and farmers are expecting a good harvest in terms of yields. Today we
visited the fields in Kareli municipality, where different crops are cultivated on hectares
of land. The villagers, who are currently engaged in agricultural work, are taking into
account the recommendations of the state and we do not have a problem in the region
in this regard, "- said the State Representative.
