The Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, Sozar Subar and the UNHCR Regional Representative, Deputy Hai Shelou brought humanitarian aid of the United Nations to the displaced families living in Tour base in Gori. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Refugees, Mamuka Tsotniashvili and the Deputy of Shida Kartli State Representative-Governor Davit Jolbordi. IDPs were given the household kits (mattresses, blankets, pots and other). 134 IDPs families live in Gori, in Tour base settlement for already 26 years. Among them32 wooden cottages are under the danger of destruction, according to the conclusion of the National Bureau of Samkharauli Expert. At the meeting with IDPs, the Minister, Sozar Subar announced that the residents of the above mentioned settlement will get new apartments in the building provided by the Ministry of Defense. The tender has been declared at this stage and the building repair works are to be accomplished till the end of the year. Until its completion, the Ministry pays the rent of 4 families, living in the most severe conditions with their consent.
