Gori municipality is located in the central part of eastern Georgia. It is surrounded by the South Ossetian administrative district from the north, Kaspi municipality from the east, Borjomi and Tsalka municipalities from the south and Kareli municipality from the west. The area of Gori municipality is 2327 km2, the population is equal to 144000 people.
The administrative center of the municipality is the city of Gori.
