Gori’s  Day-2018 was celebrated with a large scale of events

Gori’s Day-2018 was celebrated with a large scale of events on different locations in Gori. Cultural-educational and creative events were going on all day long as in the central streets of Gori as at Gori Castle and cultural institutions. Agro festival which was  organized in A. Tsereteli street hosted a great number of visitors. The population of Gori and their guests had a chance to watch , taste and purchase the local production.

Sozar Subari,-Leader of the Regional Development Agency of the government’s administration, Governors in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Guria and Imereti, also ambassadors and other officials. The  Governor in  Shida Kartli,-Giorgi Khojevanishvili thanked the guests for celebrating the day and attending the events. He himself specially congratulated the population of Gori:’’I would like to congratulate you this day-particularly the population of Gori! Old Gori is around us with its alive culture and traditions. I as an ordinary citizen of Gori celebrated this day like you up today, though this year I am honored thoroughly congratulate each of you. I wish you good luck and peace! I believe that we together with joint forces will be enable to create a better environment in our town!’’,-addressed the Governor of the region to Gori population.

Today, Head of Regional Development Agency, Sozar Subari, presented three room flat to Gela Romelashvili’s family who died heroically in August war. Traditionally, the ceremony of awarding of honorable citizens’ was held at Giorgi Eristavi Drama Theatre at the end of the day.
7 people awarded for their contribution to Gori development. Keti Melua was awarded an honorary status of Gori citizen. Gori’s Day celebration was ended by the concert of Gori Girls’ Choir.
