New Fruit Processing Plant Has Been Launched  within ‘’The United Agricultural Project’’ in Shida Kartli

The new fruit processing plant in the village of Sagholasheni of the Kareli Municipality has been launched. Giorgi Khanishvili,-the Depute Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture and Giorgi Khojevanishvili,-Governor in Shida Kartli, together with the Deputy of Director of Agriculture Projects Management Agency and the representatives of the local self governance opened the plant and got familiar with production process at the spot.
The plant equipped with modern standards –‘’Fruit Paper Company’’ was founded by the financial support of the State within the ‘’United Agricultural Projects’’. Around GEL 11 013 000 in total investments have been  implemented at the plant, of these GEL 405 000 is a grant,  GEL 507 000 is preferential agro loan.7 500 pieces of fruit leather, 25 000hazel-nutsand 14 000 kilos of jam are produced per year.
The product is realized on the local market and its exportation is planned in the future as well. 29 of locals are employed in the plant. ISO 22:00 international standard of food safety is planned to be introduced by the support of Agriculture Projects Management Agency next year.  
It is worthy noting that  establishing 180 new plants has been funded by the State within the “United Agricultural Project’’ since 2013 up today. Financial support of the State encouraged entrepreneurs to expand and develop their production. Agriculture Projects Management Agency is implementing ‘’United Agricultural Project’’ which is designed for long term development and its goal is to establish such environment that will support to increase competitive in agriculture, stable growth of high-quality products and introduction of international standards of food safety.
