Informative Meeting was Held in Gori about Accumulative Pension

Informative meetings about accumulative pension started in regions. The first meeting was held in Gori today. Giorgi Khojevanishvili, Governor in Shida Kartli, Konstantine Tavzarashvili,-the Mayor of the Gori Municipality, the representatives of public services, non-governmental  sector and the Media journalists attended the meeting. The representatives of Pension Agency together with the organizations involved in the project, provided the participants with complete information.  Particularly, according to the reform, all the citizens who receive payments  as a result of the contract, will be involved in the pension scheme automatically.  The system is partially compulsory. People for over 40 years will have a choice whether join the system or not, people under the age of 40 will be obliged to save  money. Pension scheme refers to an employee, employer and the state. According to the preliminary project , citizens’ partnership will be expressed the following:  an employee transfers 2% of monthly salary in the fund, an employer transfers 2% of employee’s monthly salary in the fund and the state takes 2% from an employee’s  revenue payement and transfers it in the pension fund. Thus, 6% of the total salary will be saved. Main goal of the meeting was to introduce the importance of the pension reform and the features of accumulative pension reform to the local audience and its supporting. The representatives of Pension Agency highlighted the priorities of accumulative pension system and population’s benefit during the meeting. The meeting went on in Q&A mode.
