Giorgi Khojevanishvili,-the State representative in Shida Kartli visited at TV company ‘’Imedi’’ transmission ‘’Imedi Day’’ and talked about the current and planned rehabilitation works of the cultural-historical artifacts  in Shida Kartli.   ,,We have planned different cultural and tourist  important projects in Shida Kartli. Our conversation dealt with the issue of rehabilitation   of cultural heritage artifacts in the region  at the transmission. We talked about the rehabilitation of  Dimitri Kipiani’s, Niko Lomouri’s, Giorgi Mazniashvili’s and Ivane Javakhishvili’s house-museums, the conversation also referred  to archeological and conservation works of Gori, Surami and Akhalkalaki Castles.

Rehabilitation of cultural heritage artifacts has two main important points: on one hand, to keep and care after our history and culture and on the other hand, to turn Shida Kartli into more attractive region which will pretty provide to develop tourism. It is directly connected with the development of service and industry sectors, accordingly to creation of working places.

Apart from the historical-cultural artifacts, we also have one good novelty. The colonnade  which is situated in ‘’Akhalbaghi’’in Gori, has  needed restoration-rehabilitation for many years.  Also, the lake which is nearby the colonnade  doesn’t look very attractive.  We together with the Fund of Municipality Development planned to restore the colonnades which carry cultural heritage status and are located in ‘’Akhalbaghi’’ and carrying cultural heritage status  and to start arrangement of the tourist-recreational zone nearby the lake. The town really needs comfortable and ecological environment as for children and young people as tourists and in general, for  its inhabitants’’,-said Khojevanishvili.
