A contract has been signed in Surami today to develop urban plans. The document was signed by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ilia Begiashvili and the representative of the organization “Urbanika” Irakli Murghulia.
Shida Kartli State Representative Giorgi Khojevanishvili, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mzia Giorgobiani, Khashuri Municipality Mayor Giorgi Guraspashvili and representatives of the local self-government attended the meeting.
The winning company will develop Surami Master Plan and Central District Development Plan projects, which will ensure effective Surami development. ‘’Urbanica’’ will also prepare the documentation required by the Environmental Assessment Code.
Priorities to be considered when developing of urban plans are: revitalizing the function of the children's resort, making reasonable use of natural conditions and mineral water, fully refining the administrative-public center, improving architectural-aesthetic appearance, reducing the risk of chaotic construction work, analysis of the current situation and capacity of the Jewish District and Synagogue, Reconstruction of the Surami Railway Station, e. Sec. Defining the perspective of Brownfield - existing and abandoned industrial sites.
