Ilia Begiashvili,-Deputy of the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Shida Kartli State Representative and the Mayors of Shida Kartli Municipalities met with the representatives of the constructing companies working in Shida Kartli region. The projects which wrer implemented in 2019 and the plans in 2020 were discussed at the meeting.
""This year projects in the region have been completed within the set deadline  and, most importantly, in line with relevant standards. So, first of all, I thank each and every company for its work. As for the future plans, we will be busier and I hope that we will continue our active and productive collaboration’’, said   the State representative.       

During the year construction and rehabilitation of roads, drainage, drinking and irrigation systems, outpatient clinics, educational institutions, sports and tourism infrastructure were carried out in each municipality of the region. Some of them are transitional and will be completed in 2020. In addition to the local budget, the projects were funded by the Projects  to be implemented in the Regions and the Municipal Development Fund.

It is noteworthy that several important projects were launched this year. In particular, tourism infrastructure and parking space is being actively developed near Athens Sioni. Construction of Kaspi Vocational School and Technopark is also underway. Traffic infrastructure has been significantly improved in each municipality. It is noteworthy that 67 schools in the region were rehabilitated.

In total, 617 projects worth more than GEL 71 million have been implemented in Shida Kartli this year.
