Pre-election environment was discussed in Gori Democracy School

 An international organization “Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy” has organized meeting about challenges and political circumstances of the pre-election environment. The meeting was attended by the active political parties, NGOs and media representatives. Guram Macharashvili, the deputy governor of Shida Kartli, was one of the participants of the event who paid attention on the importance of democratic environment for the elections. He also mentioned that the local government will do everything within the frames of its competency to hold fair elections. Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association, International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) and Public Defender representatives appealed to the Government representatives for the particular attention on the elections issues. The local NGO representatives say that such meetings will be held numerously during the pre-election period.
