"There is no danger that the fire will continue towards the settlement area at the moment’’,- says Giorgi Khojevanishvili, the Governor of Shida Kartli

Yesterday evening in the Khashuri municipality, in the forest near the village of Tsedani,fire extinguishing works have been intensively underway. Despite the fact that the fires are located on a very difficult relief, it is still possible and at this time, 10 units of fire protection and appropriate groups have been already at the spot of the accident and the activities for the fire localization are intensively still in progress,

,,Appropriate activities for the fire localization were not ceased all night long. However, it should also be noted that fire extinguishing works are complicated by the windy weather.

Besides special equipment,  up to 200 firefighters are mobilized on the spot. Shida Kartli fire-rescue service is also provided by the corresponding services of neighboring municipalities.

As for the fire spreading, there is no danger that the fire will continue towards the settlement area, also the fire was not spread on the other areas of the forest’’,- declared the Governor of Shida Kartli.

In the Khashuri municipality, near the village of Cedan, fire broke out yesterday evening, the fire is spread in leafy forest, about 10 hectares.
